Friends of Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill
This Friends group was formed in 1999 by and for people who love this beautiful nature reserve in south Edinburgh and want to support it and its wildlife.
There is a programme of activities involving practical conservation work and walks and talks on the area and its wildlife. Recently we have produced a new Nature Trail Leaflet for the reserve and designed and funded a replacement Viewfinder for the top of the Hill. We can be seen burn cleaning, Himalayan Balsam clearing, wild-flower planting or up a ladder securing nesting or bat boxes. With so many jobs to do we are always looking for more members!
So if you share our enthusiasm for the Hermitage and Hill consider joining the Friends – you will find lots of opportunities to enjoy and share your skills and interests.
For more details on membership and activities have a look at our web-site www.fohb.org. Copies of the current Newsletter and membership application forms are available at Hermitage House.
