The Water of Leith Conservation Trust – Spring 2010.
Spring has finally arrived to the Water of Leith and our attentions turn to our wildflora. Over the past few years we have completed a wildflower survey along to river, spotting over 250 species of wild plants growing on the banks of the Water of Leith.
If you would like to discover more about these plants why not join in our Wildflower Walk on Saturday 8th May leaving the Water of Leith Visitor Centre at 2.00pm, £3.50per person (booking essential 0131 455 7367 email@example.com).
Or if you are green fingered and want to pick up a bargain for your garden come along to the Annual Plant Sale at the Visitor Centre on the same day Saturday 8th May starting at 10.00am there will be hundreds of plants for sale. Admission 50p. Come early to bag a bargain.
The Spring months are also river clean-up time for the Water of Leith Conservation Trust. Community groups and volunteers will be donning wellies in a big effort to Spring Clean the Water of Leith before the summer vegetation masks the rubbish.
